Universities, R&D Groups and Academic Networks

ICSOFT is a unique forum for universities, research groups and research projects to present their research and scientific results, be it by presenting a paper, hosting a tutorial or instructional course or demonstrating its research products in demo sessions, by contributing towards panels and discussions in the event's field of interest or by presenting their project, be it by setting up an exhibition booth, by being profiled in the event's web presence or printed materials or by suggesting keynote speakers or specific thematic sessions.

Special conditions are also available for Research Projects which wish to hold meetings at INSTICC events.

CLAMPIT


-     CLAMPIT project aims to develop a high-end decision supporting system that helps metalworking SMEs carrying out welding work to increase their efficiency by automatizing clamping design calculations. The application assists its users to find the optimum fixture design containing optimal clamping points and forces. In addition it includes a fast and efficient distortion prediction module incorporating LSND technology.

STEPMAN


STEPMAN project aims to facilitate bidirectional communication throughout the CAx chain used by SMEs within SME association groups. This would allow information about products, machines and other production resources to be conveyed with a high level of integrity to enable an information-rich environment for the manufacturing activity.

TACMON2


-    The aim of TACMON2 is to develop an innovative technology for the low-cost realization of a large area Interactive Graphical Tactile Display as a computer peripheral for visually impaired people, providing them a new dimension of access to graphical oriented electronic information and to a wider range of PC applications. The software part of this project: TACMON Image Conversion Tool is an intelligent image conversion software, which can convert figures, diagrams, charts and maps into simplified touchable format. The output of this software can also be used with commercial braille embossers. Apart from this tool, the software contains an SDK and API to support developers to develop additional applications for the TACMON display and a Training Application that can be used to train the visually impaired how to use this new PC periphery.

RISCOSS


In summary RISCOSS is a collaborative project with funding support by the European Commision. it develops both a methodology and a software platform that integrate the whole decisión-making chain, from technology criteria to strategic concerns to help managers identify, manage and mitigate risks of integrating third-party open source software.
